• The Commonwealth’s NDIS model is run by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) on behalf of the Australian Government.
  • In WA the first trial site for the NDIS model is in the Perth Hills (Swan, Mundaring and Kalamunda local government authorities). People with disability, already registered with the Disability Services Commission, living in these areas will be contacted by the NDIA. For full details on which suburbs are involved and details on how to access the scheme visit the NDIS site here;
  • Trials of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) have already started in a number of other locations around Australia and the full national rollout is expected to be complete by 2019, providing WA agrees to participate in the scheme following the 2 year trial.
  • People accessing the scheme are known as participants. The following link will take you to a resource developed specifically for participants My pathway, my choices, my goals – Information for participants (Please note that the plan refers to Disability Care Australia – this is an earlier name used by the NDIA)
  • The Planning and Support Coordinators at the NDIA are the people who will help you to develop your plan under this scheme.
